Court remands Disha for four days in Tahsif murder case

A Dhaka court on Sunday placed Jerika Tasnim Disha(19) on a four-day remand in a murder case over the death of former Bangladesh Air Force Flight Lieutenant KM Tahsif Sauri.
Metropolitan Magistrate Md Ripon Hossain passed the order after hearing a police petition seeking seven days remand.
According to the investigation, CCTV footage and digital records showed that Disha accompanied Tahsif to a restaurant in Uttara on October 27. She was also reportedly seen with another suspect, Ahmed Shahriar Reza Dip, at a motorcycle garage. Call records revealed several conversations between Disha and Tahsif before his death.
Police said her interrogation was necessary to uncover the circumstances of the killing, identify other suspects and verify information provided by Dip, who is also on remand.
Disha was arrested from her Kafrul residence early Sunday.
Tahsif went missing on October 27 after leaving home following a call from Dip. His body was recovered from the Turag River near Rajabari Ghat on October 28.
His father, KM Enayetul Karim, subsequently filed a murder case with Uttarkhan Police Station against unidentified persons. Police later arrested Dip as a suspect in the case.
