A critical patient's blood samples collected for medical tests went missing at Labaid Hospital in Dhaka, delaying her treatment.
The patient's son, Ershad, said samples were collected from his kidney disease-stricken mother, Sultana Begum, on Thursday morning, but the hospital later informed them that the samples had not reached the laboratory.
He alleged negligence, saying the test reports were crucial for determining her next course of treatment.
Labaid's Public Relations Officer Meher-e-Khoda Dip said a three-member committee had been formed to investigate the incident. Fresh samples have been collected and sent for testing, he added.
