Jharkhand Health and Family Welfare Minister and Congress leader Irfan Ansari warned that India could face a crisis worse than Bangladesh and Nepal if the central government fails to address growing public discontent.
Speaking in an interview with Indian news agency PTI on Thursday (5 November), the minister discussed sensitive topics including the Special Intensive Revision (SIR) of electoral rolls alongside the country's political and economic situation.
Ansari asserted that India is on the verge of destruction, highlighting that millions of youth are protesting in Delhi and awaiting direction from Rahul Gandhi to launch larger demonstrations.
He urged Indian Prime Minister Narendra Modi to take immediate notice of the grievances faced by farmers, the middle class, Dalits, tribals, and Muslims to prevent an emergency-like situation across the country.
Questioning Chief Election Commissioner Gyanesh Kumar over the removal of 130 million names from the electoral rolls during the revision process, Ansari criticized the Election Commission's actions.
His remarks have sparked sharp reactions nationwide, with the ruling Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) condemning the statement as "language of anarchy" and demanding legal action against the Congress leader.
