Prime Minister Tarique Rahman called upon patriotic and democratic citizens to remain united under the slogan "Not Delhi, not Pindi, nor any other country—Bangladesh comes first."
Speaking as the chief guest at a special exhibition event organized on Saturday (7 November) morning at the Banani Army Stadium in the capital to mark the historic National Revolution and Solidarity Day 2026, the Prime Minister asserted that the nation will never lose its direction if the present generation remains inspired by the spirit of 7 November.
Reflecting on the historical significance of the day, Prime Minister Tarique Rahman stated that anti-independence conspirators had placed Army Chief Ziaur Rahman and his family under house arrest in 1975. However, patriotic soldiers and the public united to foil the plot, establishing 7 November as a beacon of national unity.
He noted that conspirators later attempted to re-impose a one-party regime and undermine the military through the BDR Pilkhana massacre. However, the fascist forces were ousted on 5 August 2024 through a bloody mass uprising led by students and the public. He paid rich tributes to the martyrs and injured of the 2024 uprising.
Stressing national unity regardless of religion, caste, or ethnicity, the Prime Minister emphasized that every citizen shares a single proud identity: "We are Bangladeshi." He reaffirmed the government's commitment to nurturing the talent of the youth to build a secure, prosperous, and dignified nation.
The grand event was jointly organized by the National Revolution and Solidarity Day 2026 Celebration Committee, Ministry of Defence, Armed Forces Division, Bangladesh Army, Bangladesh National Cadet Corps, and Bangladesh Scouts, with high-ranking government officials and military personnel in attendance.
