The Bangladesh Nationalist Party (BNP) is holding a massive capital-wide rally on Saturday afternoon to observe the historic National Revolution and Solidarity Day. Party Chairman and Prime Minister Tarique Rahman will personally lead the procession, which is scheduled to commence from in front of the party's central office in Nayapaltan.
Prior to the start of the procession at 3:00 PM, a brief rally is being held at a temporary stage set up outside the central office, where the Prime Minister will address leaders, activists, and supporters as the chief guest and formally inaugurate the march. The event will also be attended by the party's acting secretary general, standing committee members, and senior leaders.
Nayapaltan swamped by enthusiastic leaders and activists
Since morning, leaders and activists from various thanas, wards, and adjacent districts of Dhaka have been gathering in Nayapaltan in small, enthusiastic processions. Carrying national and party flags, banners, festoons, and placards featuring top leaders, participants wearing colorful t-shirts and caps have filled the surrounding area with slogans celebrating the day.
According to party insiders, the procession will move from Nayapaltan through Kakrail near the Chief Justice's residence, pass the Hotel InterContinental, and proceed via Banglamotor and Farmgate before culminating at Manik Mia Avenue.
Stringent security and volunteer measures in place
To ensure discipline and smooth traffic flow, BNP's internal volunteer teams are actively managing crowd control along the designated route. Meanwhile, law enforcement agencies have maintained strict surveillance around the entire area to prevent any untoward incidents and maintain public safety.
Central Juba Dal Vice-President Nurul Islam Sohel remarked that the massive preparation and the direct leadership of Prime Minister Tarique Rahman have deeply inspired party members, injecting renewed strength and momentum into the organization.
