Khelafat Majlis announces mayoral candidates for 2 city corporations

Bangladesh Khelafat Majlis has announced its mayoral candidates for the upcoming elections to the Dhaka North and Dhaka South city corporations.

The party's Ameer, Maulana Mamunul Haque, introduced the candidates at a press conference held at its central office in Paltan, Dhaka, on Saturday evening (November 7).

Maulana Morshed Alam Siddiqui will contest the Dhaka North City Corporation mayoral election on behalf of the party, while Hafez Maulana Mahbubul Haque will be its candidate for the Dhaka South City Corporation mayoral post.

At the press conference, Mamunul Haque said announcing joint candidates through the 11-party alliance would reduce the possibility of splitting the vote bank.

He urged the alliance's senior leaders to take a decision on the matter.
