‘Hard to imagine anyone but Sai Pallavi as Sita’: Dhanush

Actor Dhanush has praised Sai Pallavi’s performance as Sita in the movie adaptation of Ramayana, stating that it is difficult to imagine anyone else in the iconic role.
Speaking during a promotional event for their upcoming film OM, Dhanush shared his experience of working alongside the actress and lauded her acting capability, personality, and dedication.
Recalling their first collaboration in the 2018 film Maari 2, Dhanush noted that Pallavi was soft-spoken at the time, but expressed admiration for her growth, self-confidence, and maturity as an actor over the past nine years.
Dhanush described the role in OM as challenging, noting that Pallavi approached it with courage and delivered a strong performance. He added that the actress maintained a disciplined routine, regularly praying during shooting breaks, and praised her commitment to her craft.
In OM, Sai Pallavi portrays CBI officer Nitya Reddy, whose investigation into an illegal sandalwood smuggling ring intersects with characters played by Dhanush and Mammootty.
Produced by Namit Malhotra, Ramayana is a two-part cinematic venture featuring Ranbir Kapoor as Lord Rama, Sai Pallavi as Sita, and Yash as Ravana, alongside Ravi Dubey as Lakshmana and Sunny Deol as Hanuman. The first installment of the film was released on November 5, 2026, with the second part scheduled for release during Diwali in 2028.
