The Bangladesh Madrasah Education Board has directed chief examiners and examiners to submit answer scripts of candidates who applied for re-scrutiny of this year's Alim examination results on November 9 and 10.
According to a notice issued by the board on Sunday, the designated answer scripts must be submitted between 9:00 am and 4:00 pm on both days. The chief examiners and examiners concerned have been instructed to bring the scripts to the board office under their respective responsibilities.
The notice covers several subjects, including Quran Majid (subject code 201), Hadith Sharif (202), Al Fiqh First Paper (203), Al Fiqh Second Paper (204), Arabic First Paper (205), Arabic Second Paper (206) and Information and Communication Technology (209).
The board has also provided lists of subject-wise chief examiners, along with the roll and serial numbers of answer scripts assigned for re-scrutiny. The concerned examiners have been instructed to submit the scripts within the specified dates and hours.
Meanwhile, the application process for re-scrutiny of this year's HSC and equivalent examination results ended at noon on Sunday. The deadline was extended by 12 hours after a technical glitch temporarily disrupted the online application process for several hours.
A record 278,882 students submitted a total of 1,037,717 applications for re-scrutiny within seven days, according to Professor Syed Akhtaruzzaman, president of the Bangladesh Inter-Education Board Coordination Committee and chairman of the Dhaka Education Board.
The total number of applications exceeded the number of applicants as students were allowed to apply for re-scrutiny of multiple subjects and papers.
According to the Inter-Education Board Coordination Committee, a total of 226,561 candidates applied for re-scrutiny of 428,458 answer scripts under 11 education boards in 2025. The figure stood at 508,116 in 2024.
