Two killed in Nandail road mishap

NANDAIL, MYMENSINGH, Nov 8: Two passengers were killed and four others injured when a passenger-carrying pickup collided head-on with a sand-laden dump truck in Bahadurnagar area of Moazzempur Union on the Kanurampur-Trishal regional road in Nandail Upazila of thje district on Saturday night.

The two deceased, whose identities have not yet been established, died on the spot. The four injured were identified as Sabbir Mia, 30, Harun Mia, 20, Rana Mia, 24, and Khokon Mia, 35, all from Netrakona District.

Fire service personnel, assisted by local residents, rescued the injured and took them to Nandail Upazila Health Complex. Doctors declared two passengers dead, while the four injured were later transferred to Mymensingh Medical College Hospital in critical condition.

The dump truck driver fled the scene with the vehicle following the collision, said Nandail Model Police Station Officer-in-Charge Azharul Islam, confirming the incident.
