Miru, Taj elected as chairmen in Sirajganj's two upazilas

The third phase of sixth upazila parishad elections held two upazilas in Sirajganj on Wednesday (May 29).

Halimul Haque Miro has been elected as the chairman of Shahjadpur upazila getting 55,218 votes while his rival candidate Abdul Hamid secured 29,966 votes.

On the other hand, in Chauhali upazila, Md Taj Uddin was elected as upazila chairman with 14,436 votes. His nearest candidate Faruque Hossain got 13,302 votes.

Litus Lowrence Chiran, additional district magistrate and returning officer, confirmed the results.
