Among these upazilas, Aminur Zaman Rinku has been elected as the chairman of Gaibandha Sadar Upazila Parishad with 54,796 votes, while his nearest rival candidate Istekur Rahman Sarkar got 48,944 votes.
In Palashbari Upazila, AKM Mokshed Chowdhury Bidyut has been re-elected as the upazila chairman by getting 19,595 votes. His closest competitor, Tauhidul Islam, got 18,774 votes.
On the other hand, Shakil Akand Bulbul has been elected as the chairman of Gobindaganj Upazila. He got 91,048 votes with 'Pineapple symbol' while his nearest rival Abdul Latif Pradhan got 82,045 votes.
Returning Officer and Additional Deputy Commissioner (General) Dewan Moudud Ahmed said that the voting process has been conducted in a peaceful way.
