Students held protest and wall writing program in Barishal amid relaxation of curfew.
At that time, the students raised various demands, including being forced to announce the withdrawal of the movement.
On Monday (July 29) around 12 pm, they protested at Nathullabad Central Bus Terminal in the city.
The student who participated in the protest and wall writing program said on the condition of anonymity that at the DB office, the coordinators of the students' movement were subjected to mental and physical torture at gunpoint and forced to announce the withdrawal of the movement.
'We strongly condemn and protest against it. In addition, ordinary students from all over the country have taken the responsibility of coordinator to keep the movement program going', they said.
The protesting students in Nathullabad area said that as part of the central program, they have conducted protest program and wall writing program.
At that time, the students said, 'We don't know whether our program will be publicized on media today or not but common people are watching our protest. Although we are holding a peaceful program, the police are obstructing our program in various ways.'
Barishal Metropolitan Police Airport Police Station Inspector (Investigation) Lokman Hossain said the students had stayed for some time on the side of the road in the central bus terminal area of the city. Later, they left on their own.
Eyewitnesses said students from Nathullabad came to the banks of Bibir pond in the city and painted graffiti on the wall in front of Barishal Reporters Unity.
