Child's beheaded body recovered in Gopalganj

The body of a four-year-old boy was recovered from a reed field in Saphlidanga village under Kashiani Upazila in Gopalganj district on Thursday.

The deceased Apurba Tikadar, 4, son of farmer Tapas Tikadar, was found brutally murdered near Baluchar area in the village around 10:30 PM on Thursday night.

According to local sources and police, Apurba was playing in the yard of his home and went missing after a while. His mother, Pali Tikadar, who was busy with household chores, noticed his absence around 6:30 PM and started searching for him. 

After being failed to locate him, they reported the incident to Ramdia Police Outpost. Later, with the help of locals, police found Apurba’s beheaded body in the nearby reed field.

Ramdia Police Outpost inspector Abdullah Al Mamun confirmed the incident, adding that they have recovered the body and sent to Gopalganj 250-bed General Hospital for an autopsy. 

After the autopsy, the body was handed over to the family on Friday afternoon.

Kashiani Police Station Inspector Zillur Rahman informed that the child's father, Tapas Tikadar, has filed a complaint with the police and added," It is suspected that the incident may have been motivated by previous enmity. The police have already started an investigation into the case."
