Former Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina along with several well-known ministers, MP and 306 individuals were made accused in a murder case relating to the killing of transport worker Jony during the Quota reform movement in Narayanganj's Sonargaon upazila.

The victim Jony's father Easin filed the murder case at Sonargaon Police Station on Tuesday afternoon.

Amir Khasru, Additional Superintendent of Police (recently promoted to Superintendent of Police) in Narayanganj, confirmed the development.

The case lists 187 named individuals, including former Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina, former Home Minister Asaduzzaman Khan Kamal, former Bridge Minister Obaidul Quader, former Foreign Minister Hasan Mahmud, former MP Shamim Osman, Nazrul Islam Babu, Golam Dastagir Gazi Bir Pratik, and Abdullah Al Kaisar. Additionally, 100 to 120 unidentified individuals have been named as accused in the case.

According to the case statement, Jony, from Balua Dighi Para in Sonargaon municipality, worked as a helper on NAF transport vehicles. On July 20, in an effort to suppress the student movement, leaders and activists of Awami League and its affiliated organizations allegedly gathered in Kanchpur with firearms, cocktails, and sticks, disrupting traffic in front of Kanchpur Nursery. During the incident, they allegedly fired indiscriminately and assaulted the protesting students.

Around 5 PM that day, Jony was shot twice in the chest near the Kanchpur Bridge, resulting in his death on the spot.
