A man, who was injured in a clash over a land dispute, died while receiving treatment at Paikgacha upazila in Khulna district on Tuesday, a week after the clash.

The victim Kapil Uddin Morol, 57, was son of late Afil Morol and a resident of Puraikati village, passed away around 5 AM on Tuesday while undergoing treatment at the Upazila Health Complex.
According to the deceased family members, there was an ongoing land dispute between the family and the victim's brother Mayruddin Morol's family. On August 12, around 2 PM, Mayruddin along with 10 to 12 other people, attempted to seize their land. When her father, Kapil Uddin, tried to stop them, they allegedly beat him severely, causing serious injuries. When her mother intervened, she was also assaulted.

Locals then admitted the victim to the hospital. Due to the deterioration of her father's condition, doctors referred him to Khulna Medical College Hospital on August 15 for advanced treatment. After returning home on August 19, Kapil Uddin's condition worsened again, and he was admitted to Paikgacha Upazila Health Complex, where he died early the next morning.

Following the incident, the victim's daughter, Laboni Akter, filed a complaint with Paikgacha Police Station.

Being informed, police recovered the body and sent to Khulna Medical College Hospital for an autopsy, officer-in-charge Mohammad Obaidur Rahman confirmed.
