Child drowns in Thakurgaon river

A 11-year-old child drowned while taking bath in Tangon River adjacent to Thakurgaon district town on Thursday.

The deceased Siam, 11, was son of Sumon Islam and a resident of Paschim Munsipara colony of the town.
According to the victim's family members, Siam accompany with another child Jisan went to the river to take bathe in the afternoon. At one stage, they both drowned and went missing. Seeing them drown, locals jumped into the scene and managed to rescue Jisan but Siam remain missing.

On information, divers from nearby fire service station rushed there and recovered Siam after one hour of attempt.

He was then taken to nearby hospital where the physicians declared him dead.

Thakurgaon Sadar Police Station officer-in-charge ABM Firoz Wahid confirmed the death adding that an unnatural death case was filed in this regard and legal actions will be taken in this regard.
