Man killed in Gopalganj road crash

A man was killed and five others were injured in a road accident on the Dhaka-Khulna Highway in Gopalganj Sadar upazila on Friday.

The accident took place at around 12 PM on Friday at Pathalia area of the upazila.
However, the identities of the deceased could not be known immediately.

Gopalganj Sadar Police Station officer-in-charge Md Anisur Rahman confirmed the incident.

According to police sources, the accident occurred when a Khulna-bound microbus collided head-on with a Dhaka-bound passenger bus. The driver of the bus died on the spot and five passengers from the both vehicles sustained critical injuries.

The injured were rescued and taken to Gopalganj General Hospital for treatment, added the police sources.
