A man was killed reportedly by his aunt over a depute relating to planting trees at Daudkandi upazila in Cumilla district on Thursday.
A incident took place on Thursday evening at Dashpara village under Sundalpur Union in the upazila.
The victim Suman Bepari, 35, a resident of the village and son of late Shahjalal Bepari, was employed at Narayanganj Water Development Board office.
Following the incident, police arrested his aunt, Parul Akter, along with her husband, Ali Mia, their son, Rabbi Ahmed, and daughter, Tania Akter. They were detained with the help of police and army and brought to local police station.
According to locals, an altercation ensued between Suman and his aunt Parul which escalated on Thursday evening over planting of a tree. At one point, Parul bit Suman in the testicles, causing him to lose consciousness. He was rushed to Gauripur Health Complex in the upazila, where doctors declared him dead.
Later, his body was taken to the Daudkandi police station by the army from where it was sent to Cumilla Medical College Hospital for an autopsy on Friday morning.
A case is being prepared in connection with the incident.
