Two teenage madrasah students, who went missing since Saturday, found dead at a waterlogged field in Brahmanbaria Sadar upazila on Tuesday.

The bodies of them were found in the field at Sadekpur Uttar Para area in the upazila.

The deceased were Naima, 14, daughter of Billal Mia from Kalishima village, and Maimuna, 15, daughter of Abdul Barek from Sadekpur village. They both were students of Jamia Solaimania Kashemia Ulum Madrasa in Payag village of the same upazila.

Naima's father, Billal Mia, said that the girls left for the madrasah on Friday afternoon. However, the madrasah authorities informed the families on Saturday morning that the girls were not at the institution. Upon receiving the news, the families rushed there, where the teachers mentioned that the girls were reprimanded the night before, and since then, they had been missing.

When the families requested to check CCTV footage, the teacher responded, "There is CCTV footage, but you can view it later. First, find the girls." On Tuesday morning, the bodies of the both were discovered in the field.

Brahmanbaria Sadar Police Station officer-in-charge Mojzaffar Hossain said that an investigation is underway, and necessary actions will be taken following autopsy report.
