Teen's beheaded body retrieved in Cumilla

Police recovered the beheaded body of a teen girl from her room at Muradnagar upazila in Cumilla district on Friday.

The victim was Rabeya Akter, 15, daughter of Zakir Hossain, a resident of Yusufnagar village under Muradnagar sadar union.

Muradnagar Police Station officer-in-charge Prabhas Chandra Dhar confirmed the recovery.

According to the deceased father, Rabeya went to sleep after having dinner on Thursday night. On Friday morning, she was found slaughtered with his hands and feet tied in her room.

OC Prabhas Chandra Dhar said being informed, police recovered the body and sent to Cumilla Medical College Hospital morgue for autopsy.

"It was assumed that the incident might have took place over a dispute relating to a romantic affair. However, police are investigating the incident and the actual motive behind the killing would be known further," added the OC.
