Mother, daughter found dead in Cox's Bazar

A woman and her child, who were allegedly kidnapped from Padua area in Cumilla three days ago, found dead in Cox's Bazaar town on Monday night.

On information, Rapid Action Battalion (RAB) recovered the bodies around 9.30 PM on Monday.
The deceased were Arifa Akhter, 25, wife of Tanveer, and her three-year old daughter Tanisha Islam Anha, hailed from Ashoktola area in Sadar upazila of the district.

Md Kalam Chowdhury, assistant director (Law and Media) of RAB-15, confirmed the recovery and said that being informed, a team of the elite force conducted a raid in Shoikotpara area and recovered their bodies.

Arifa's family members had lodged a General Diary (GD) with Cumilla Sadar Dakshin Thana on the day they went missing.

"Nobody was arrested till now. An investigation is underway," he said, adding that the bodies were handed over to their family members.
