Border Guard Bangladesh (BGB) in a drive seized a huge amount of (LSD) Lysergic acid diethylamide from Benapole frontier area in Jashore district on Friday.
BGB Jashore Battalion-49 Commander Lt Col Saifullah Siddique confirmed the matter in the afternoon.
The BGB commander said that a team of BGB was patrolling Amrakhali checkpost in the afternoon. After sensing their presence, a suspected drugs smuggler fled the scene, leaving behind a bag around 200 yards south of the check post. While searching the bag, the law enforcers recovered six bottles of LSD, 18 Clop G cream, 19 Skin shine cream.
The estimated market value of the drugs is more than six crore, he said.
Legal actions were being taken in this regard, added the BGB official.
