BU student 'commits suicide ' at home

A female student of Barishal University, who sustained injuries when she attempted to commit suicide and was undergoing treatment, died on Friday.

Deceased Arpana Das, was daughter of Shyamol Das and a resident of Sonaimukhi area in Mehendiganj upazila. Arpana was sixth semester student of Physics Department in Barishal University.
The family members of the victim said that they rescued Arpana while she was trying to commit suicide by hanging herself with the ceiling fan of her house on Thursday evening. She was then taken to Barishal Sher-e-Bangla Medical College Hospital where she succumbed to her injuries on Friday morning.

Barishal Kotwali Model Police Station sub-inspector Majedul Islam confirmed the death, adding that the body was handed over to the family members upon their request.
