Attack on Hasina's train: 18 accused walk out of jail

Eighteen individuals, who were convicted in a case relating to attack on the train convoy of former Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina, have been released on bail. 

The attack took place in 1994 at the Ishwardi railway station in Pabna.

The convicts were freed from Rajshahi Central Jail on Monday afternoon, following a bail order issued by Pabna Additional District Judge Court-2. 

The released individuals are Tuhin Bin Siddique, Abdur Jabbar, Akkel Ali, Kallol Ali, Md. Selim, Fazlur Rahman, Enamul Kabir, Aminul Islam, Md. Jamirul, Nefaur Rahman, Md. Azmal, Anisur Rahman, Robi, Md. Palash, Md. Tuhin, Md. Alamgir, Md. Ferozul, and Chand Ali.

Rajshahi Central Jail sources confirmed that the bail order was received from Pabna court before the release was carried out.

Efforts to reach Rajshahi Central Jail’s Senior Superintendent and Additional District Magistrate Mirza Imam Uddin for comments went unanswered.
