An arms case has been filed against former MP fron Sirajganj-2 constituency Janat Ara Henry and her husband, former district council chairman Shamim Talukder Labu.
The case was filed by sub-inspector of Sirajganj Sadar Police Station Kamal Chandra on Sunday night.
Humayun Kabir, officer-in-charge of the police station, confirmed the development on Monday afternoon.
Earlier on Sunday morning, police recovered two shotguns and 16 rounds of ammunition from the under-construction mosque’s staircase in Phulkocha village on Kazi-pur Road.
The OC explained that, according to government notification, the licenses for the shotguns owned by Henry and her husband were revoked as they failed to deposit the licensed weapons by the deadline of September 3.
Following the fall of Awami League-led government, the couple has been in hiding as suspects in three murder cases.
