Teen killed in Meherpur bike accident

A teen student was killed and two others were injured in a road accident at Shalika village under Meherpur Sadar upazila on Thursday night.

The deceased was identified as Dulal Hossain, 15, son of Modon Ali from Ramnagar village of Mujibnagar upazila in the district. He was a 10th grade student at Kedarganj Technical School and College.

The accident occurred in the area when Dulal along two others were going to Mujibnagar upazila from Shalika village riding a motorcycle. On the way, the bike lost control and hit a road side tree around 11 PM, leaving three critically injured, officer-in-charge (OC) of Meherpur Sadar Police Station Kani Mia said.

Locals rescued them and took them to Meherpur General Hospital where the on-duty doctor declared Dulal dead.

The body was handed over to the family members upon their request, the OC added.
