Child burned to death in Savar fire

A fire claimed the life of a three-year-old child and injured his brother at Birulia in Savar on Saturday.

The incident took place at 10:30 AM in a room of Tapasi Rabeya's house in Taliakoir Westpara.
The deceased was identified as Mohammad Ullah, 3, son of Babar Ali from Perli village under Kalia upazila of Narail district, while the injured is Mohammad Sakib, 11. 

According to the victim's family members,  Mohammad Ulla made a fire inside the house by igniting clothes with a gas lighter. As the fire spread, both he and his older brother were caught in the flames. Despite locals' efforts to control the fire within an hour, Mohammad Ullah succumbed to his injuries. Sakib was rescued and sent to the hospital.

Birulia Police outpost in-charge Didar confirmed the incident, adding that the fire caused damage amounting to an estimated Tk 50,000, including cash, jewelry, and household items.
