Two brothers drown in Meghna River

Police recovered the bodies of two brothers, who went missing on September 13, from the Meghna River in Noakhali district on Tuesday.

The deceased were Md Haquesab, 34, and his elder brother Md Ershad, 36, sons of Abu Taher from Sukhchar village under Jahajmara union of the upazila.

According to locals, a fishing trawler with 16 fishermen capsized in the river on Friday (September 13) causing all of them went missing. Among them, 12 were rescued and the duo was found dead with two others still remain missing. 

Hatia Upazila Nirbahi Officer (UNO) Milton Chakma confirmed the recoveries.
