A medical officer at Atwari Upazila Health Complex in Panchagarh allegedly committed suicide at her home on Tuesday.

Police suspect that Dr. Fairooz Anika Washema Prinon, 32, might have took the decision due to family disputes.

The deceased family members said that they have found her unresponsive on Tuesday morning. Upon breaking into her room, they discovered her lying on the floor with a noose made from a scarf, part of which was still hanging from the fan.

She was declared dead after being taken to Boda Upazila Health Complex.

Dr. Prinon had joined the health service on July 2 after being 39th BCS cadre and was working at Atwari Health Complex.

Police confirmed marks of hanging on her neck and, based on the family's request, handed over the body without an autopsy.

An unnatural death case has been filed, added the police sources.
