Myanmar gunfire disrupts operations at Teknaf land port

Operations at Teknaf land port in Cox's Bazar have been suspended due to gunfire from the conflict-ridden region of Myanmar.

Teknaf Upazila Nirbahi Officer (UNO) Adnan Chowdhury confirmed that all activities were halted following the shooting incident.

Jasim Uddin, the port manager, reported that around 1:30 PM on Wednesday, three bullets from Myanmar border struck the land port area. 

The first round shattered the glass of the land port office, while the second hit a goods-laden truck. The third bullet struck a coconut tree, causing widespread alarm among the workers, who subsequently sought shelter in safer locations.

Local residents noted that gunfire originating from a nearby island in Myanmar has been impacting border areas in Bangladesh as rival factions engage in clashes.
