Youth killed as car overturns in Thakurgaon

A youth was killed and six others were injured after a private car overturned at Ranisankail upazila in Thakurgaon district on Friday.

The accident took place in the afternoon in front of Water Developement Board on the Ranisankail-Nekmarad highway in the upazila.

The deceased was identified as Raisul Islam, 26, son of Afroz Uddin from Sheikhpur area under Dinajpur Sadar upazila.

According to police sources, a private car from Ranisankail upazila overturned into the highway as its driver lost control over the steering. A passenger of the car died on the spot and six others were critically injured at that time.

Later, locals with the help of fire service personnel rescued the injured and sent to Ranisankail Upazila Health Complex.

Ranisankail Police Station OC Jayanta Kumar Saha confirmed the death, adding an unnatural death case was filed with the police station and legal actions will be taken in this regard.
