Man held with heroin worth Tk 20 lakh in Rajshahi

Rapid Action Battalion (RAB) in a drive arrested a man along with heroin worth Tk 20 lakh from Rajshahi city on early Saturday.

The arrested is Md Jamsed alias Nawsad alias Nasa, 56, from Char Ashariadah village under Godagari upazila in the district, confirmed RAB-5 media wing through a press release.

According to the press release, Jamsed was waiting for a train at Rajshahi Railway Station to smuggle the drugs when a team of the elite force arrested him.

While searching him, the law enforcers recovered 200 grams of heroin from his possession, said the notification.

The arrested was later handed over to police after filing a case with Rajshahi Railway Police Station under Narcotics Control Act, added the press release.
