Two workers killed in Rangpur road crash

Two workers were killed when a bus collided with a three wheeler at Mithapukur upazila in Rangpur district on Saturday night.

The accident occurred around 8 PM on the Dhaka-Rangpur highway near the Shathibari Dream Plus petrol pump.
The victims have been identified as Hossain Mia, 40, son of late Abdul Baten, and Selim Mia, 40, son of late Khoda Box, both from Haldi Bari village at Charghat upazila in Rajshahi. 

According to police and local sources, a Rangpur-bound bus of 'Soukhin Paribahan' coming from Dhaka, hit the three wheeler (locally called brick-breaking machine) as it was crossing the road. The two workers died on the spot.

Borodargah Highway Police Outpost sergeant Abdur Rashid confirmed the accident, stating that the bus has been seized following the tragic incident and legal actions will be taken in this regard.
