Police have recovered three bodies relating to separate incidents from two different places in Gazipur on Tuesday.

Among the deceased, there were a young man named Mohammad Billal Sheikh, 25, from Sirajganj, and woman named Shyamoli Akter, 27, found dead, apparently due to electrocution, in a rented house in the Dakkhin Chhaidana area of Gazipur city.
Police suspect the two may have committed suicide by intentionally entangling themselves in electric wires.

Additionally, another body, identified as that of a young man named Abu Bakker, 25, was found on a highway divider in Bagher Bazar area of Gazipur Sadar upazila.

The first incident occurred early Tuesday morning when locals in Dakkhin Chhaidana area noticed that the door of a rented room was partially open. After entering into the room, they found the bodies of the couple, entangled with electric wires and holding each other closely.

Police were informed, and the bodies were later sent to Shaheed Tajuddin Ahmad Medical College Hospital for autopsies.

According to locals, Billal Sheikh was a tailor and Shyamoli Akter worked at a local garment factory. The two had reportedly been in a relationship for some time. Neighbours said that Billal entered Shyamoli's room late on Monday night. The discovery was made by another tenant who, after seeing the open door, found the couple's bodies entangled in wires.

Gacha Police Station sub-inspector Suman Mia said that Shyamoli had been previously married and had a child. After her recent divorce, she rented a house in the area and continued her job at a garment factory. She had met Billal through her work. While initial investigations suggest that they may have committed suicide due to their relationship, further investigations are underway, and a case of unnatural death has been filed.

In a separate incident on Tuesday morning, the body of Abu Bakker was found on the Dhaka-Mymensingh highway in the Bagher Bazar area. Abu Bakker, a resident of Mymensingh, had been living with his brother. His brother, Abdul Halim, said that Abu Bakker was mentally sick and had a history of drug addiction.

Joydebpur Police Station officer-in-charge Abdul Halim confirmed that the body bore signs of injury, and the case is under investigation.

The body has been sent for an autopsy to determine the exact cause of death and legal action will be taken based on the findings and conversations with the victim’s family, added the OC.
