Minor drowns in Nagaon pond

A minor child drowned in a pond at Manda upazila in Naogaon district on Saturday.

The deceased Hujaifa, 3, was son of Saiful Islam and a resident of Paraoil Dighipara village under Ganeshpur union of the upazila.

The victim's father Saiful Islam said Hujaifa slipped into the pond adjacent to the house while he was playing with another on the bank of it. 
Eventually, he was rescued and taken to Manda Upazila Health Complex where the physicians declared him dead, he said.

When contacted, Manda Police Station officer-in-charge Mansur Rahman said he was not informed about the matter.
