Robbers loot Gazipur Sonali Bank, 2 female officials hurt

A group of armed assailants looted Tk 7.84 lakh from a Sonali Bank branch in Gazipur after firing blank shots and attacking two female officers and two Ansar members on Sunday. 

The incident occurred around 4:30 PM near Rathkhola adjacent to Gazipur Stadium.

The injured are Sonali Bank's principal officer of the Tajuddin Medical sub-branch Atika Parveen, cash officer Farzana Nazneen, and Ansar members Raju and Al Amin. 

It was known that the group of injured individuals was transporting cash from the sub-branch back to the main branch when around 10-12 armed assailants intercepted them, attacked the officers, and snatched the money. 

The injured were taken to Gazipur Shaheed Tajuddin Ahmad Medical College Hospital.

Gazipur Metropolitan's Sadar Police Station OC Md. Rahedul Islam stated that the incident is being treated with high priority, with senior officers visiting the scene for investigation.
