Lightning kills 2 schoolboys in Bogura

Two school students were killed and another five injured after a streak of thunderbolt hit them at Sherpur upazila in Bogura district on Saturday.

The deceased were Morsalin, 18, son of Abu Taleb, from Khanpur union, and Jahidul Islam Jahid, 17, son of Mawla Box from Joyla Aladi village in the upazila.
According to locals, a group of school students were playing football on the bank of the Bangali River amid heavy raining. At that time, a streak of thunderbolt struck them, leaving Jahid dead on the spot and six others critically injured.

Later, Morsalin succumbed to his injuries on the way to a nearby hospital.

Sherpur Police Station officer-in-charge Shafiqul Islam confirmed the matter, adding that the bodies will be handed over to the families after completing necessary actions.
