One electrocuted in Rajbari

A man died from electrocution at Goalanda upazila in Rajbari district on Monday.

The incident took place at Tenapancha area adjacent to Piar Ali intersection under ward No. 7 of Debgram union of the upazila.

The deceased was identified as Zakir Fakir, 30, son of Omor Fakir, from Enayetpur village under Alipur union in Rajbari Sadar upazila.

According to locals, Zakir came into contact with a live eletric wire when he was collecting excrement at a chicken farm, leaving him critically injured.

He was rescued and taken to Goalanda Upazila Health Complex where the physicians declared him dead.

Dr Md Shaheedul Islam, Health and Family Planning Officer (Acting) of the health complex, confirmed the death. 

Goalanda Ghat Police Station sub-inspector Md Shihab Ahmed said the body was recovered and sent to a hospital morgue for autopsy.

An unnatural death case was filed in this regard, added the police official.
