Tourist drowns in Cox's Bazar beach

A young tourist drowned while bathing at Kalatali point of Cox's Bazar sea beach on Sunday.

The deceased was identified as Simon, 20, son of Shah Alam, from Palangkhali area under Ukhiya upazila.
Tanveer Hossain, Magistrate of Tourist Cell of Cox's Bazar District Commissioner, confirmed the death matter.

Citing locals, he said that Simon came to take a bath at Kalatali Point in the afternoon when a strong wave washed him away. 

After a while, he was rescued and taken to Cox's Bazar Sadar Hospital where the doctors declared him dead, he added.
