In a joint operation by Bangladesh Navy and Police personnel, 1,595 pieces of Yaba pills and one kilogram of hemp were seized and two alleged drug dealers were arrested at Char Fasson upazila in Bhola district.
The arrested are Liton Majhi, 37, and Siddiq Molla, 25, both residents of Ewaazpur under Ward no-4 of the upazila.
Additionally, two mobile phones, a motorcycle and Tk 45,100 in cash were recovered from their residence.
During a press briefing on Saturday morning, Lieutenant Commander Faruq detailed the operation that based on a secret information, the raid was conducted on Friday night at 11 PM in Ewaazpur area and the suspects were found with drugs and cash concealed in various parts of their home.
The arrested individuals were handed over to Shashibhushan Police Station after initial legal procedures. Navy personnel from the Lalmohan Camp, led by Lieutenant Commander M. Omar Faruq, were involved in the operation alongside local police.
Shashibhushan Police officer-in-charge Tariq Hasan Rasel stated that the two drug dealers have multiple cases against them. After their arrest and the handover, the suspects were sent to court on Saturday.
