Woman, lover to die for killing husband in M'singh

A Mymensingh court on Sunday sentenced a woman and her lover to death in a case over killing her husband at Haluaghat upazila in the district three years earlier.

Mymensingh Additional District and Sessions Judge Court-5 Justice Ali Mansur passed the order in the presence of the accused.

The convicts are Sabina Khatun and her lover Liakat Ali.

According to the case statement, Sabina and one Hazrat Ali got married with the consent of both families. After the marriage, an illicit relationship developed between Sabina and Liakat leading to a feud between Sabina and her husband.

On August 29 in 2021, Ali was killed on his way to Sherpur's Nalitabari from Haluaghat.

The victim's brother Abu Naser filed a murder case with the concerned police station.

After completing legal procedures, the court handed down the verdict.
