Gas gun recovered in Gopalganj

Detective Branch (DB) of Police in Gopalganj have recovered a foreign gas gun from Kotalipara municipal area on Sunday.

The Superintendent of Police in Gopalganj, Md. Mizanur Rahman, confirmed the matter to The Daily Observer.

The recovery took place on Sunday at 2:30 PM from the residence of Mehedi, a resident of ward No. 1 in the Kotalipara municipality. Mehedi, allegedly used the gas gun occasionally to hunt migratory birds.

According to Gopalganj District Police, a tip-off led to the discovery of the gas gun hidden in Mehedi's house. 

Acting on this information, the DB police patrol team conducted a raid and recovered the weapon. However, Mehedi managed to escape upon learning about the arrival of thelaw enforcers and could not be arrested.

Legal proceedings are currently underway regarding the incident.
