3 BCL leaders held over vandalizing ISKCON prayer hall

The arrests were made during a special operation on Saturday.  

The arrested individuals are Hasibul Hasan Pranto, joint general secretary of Bhairab municipal BCL, his brother Hasibul Hasan Shanto, joint general secretary of the upazila BCL, and Md. Sanjid, deputy education and study circle secretary of the municipal BCL.  

On November 29, at around 5:30 PM, a group of attackers armed with sticks vandalized the prayer hall located on the ground floor of Aditya Saha's building in Rani Bazar area of Bhairab Municipality. 

Following the incident, Pranoy Karmakar, a member of ISKCON Namhatta Sangha, filed a complaint with the local police station against unidentified perpetrators.  

In response to the complaint, police launched an investigation and arrested the three suspects. 

Later, they were sent to Kishoreganj District Jail after being presented in court.  

Superintendent of Police in Kishoreganj Mohammad Hasan Chowdhury said that swift action would be taken to bring those responsible to justice. "We have visited the site and initiated a thorough investigation. The culprits will be identified and punished in accordance with the law," he said.
