A protest was held outside the Indian Assistant High Commission in Khulna on Monday night in response to an attack on Bangladesh's Assistant High Commission in Agartala, India.

Members of the Anti-Discrimination Student Movement gathered at Shamsur Rahman Road around 10:30 PM to condemn the incident.

The demonstrators criticized the attack on Bangladeshs diplomatic premises, demanding accountability and swift justice for those responsible. Protestors also raised slogans against ISKCON and India, accusing them of conspiring against Bangladesh.

"An attack on Bangladesh's Assistant High Commission in India is an attack on our sovereignty. We are here to denounce such acts and will stand against all conspiracies targeting our country," said a student leader during the demonstration.

The protesters demanded swift justice for the assault on the diplomatic mission and called for those responsible to be held accountable. The protest also saw criticism directed at the Awami League government, with participants calling for accountability from former Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina and her affiliates.

Leaders such as Zahurul Islam Tanvir, Sajjadul Islam Bappi, Rafsan, and Minhajul Islam Sompod addressed the gathering.

On the same day, Bangladesh government condemned the "violent demonstration and attack" by members of the Hindu Sangharsh Samity on the Assistant High Commission in Agartala. In a statement, the Ministry of Foreign Affairs described the incident as a "heinous attack" that included the desecration of the Bangladeshi national flag.

The ministry highlighted that this act violates the Vienna Convention on Diplomatic Relations, 1961, which ensures the inviolability of diplomatic missions. The statement also referenced a similar attack on Bangladeshs mission in Kolkata on November 28, 2024, suggesting a troubling pattern.

Bangladesh has called on the Indian authorities to take appropriate measures to ensure the safety of its diplomatic missions and to bring the perpetrators to justice.
