Mother of 2 found dead, husband flees with children

A mother of two children allegedly took her own life by hanging herself at Faridganj upazila in Chandpur district. 

The incident took place on Monday night in Purbo Bardali area of Faridganj Municipality. 

However,  Kawsar Hossain, husband of the victim Sabina Akter, fled from the scene immediately after in the incident along with their two children, leaving Sabina's body at the medical facility.  

The victim, Sabina, was married to Kausar Hossain, who is a resident of Siddik Ali Bepari's house in the same area and had recently returned home from Oman, and had two children.

Kausar's mother, Kohinur Begum, recounted the events, stating that she had been praying when Kawsar returned home around 9 PM. Upon entering the house, he discovered Sabina hanging from the ceiling of the house. His scream alerted nearby neighbors, who quickly took Sabina to the medical center, where doctors pronounced her dead. 

Kohinur mentioned that there had been no known issues between her son and Sabina and when questioned about leaving the body at the medical center, she explained they were scared and fled.  

Sabina's father, Shukkur Ali, expressed uncertainty about the reasons behind the incident.  

Faridganj Police Station officer-in-charge Mohammad Shah Alam confirmed the incident and added that Sabina's body was sent for an autopsy. A case of unnatural death has been filed, and legal proceedings are underway.
