Tourists discouraged from visiting Sajek amid ongoing 'armed clashes'

Rangamati District Administration has urged tourists to avoid traveling to Sajek Valley on Wednesday, citing security concerns in the area. 

The announcement was made in an official directive issued by Additional District Magistrate (ADM) Jobaida Akter.  
The directive stated that the decision was taken in light of the prevailing law and order situation in Sajek, located in Baghaichhari upazila, and its surrounding areas. It emphasized the importance of ensuring the safety and security of tourists and urged all concerned to comply with the advisory.

According to local sources, a day-long armed clash occurred on Tuesday in the Machalong Bridge area of Sajek union between two rival regional groups. This unrest has raised significant safety concerns for visitors to the region.



Sajek Valley, a picturesque tourist destination in the Chittagong Hill Tracts, however, authorities have advised visitors to refrain from traveling to the area until the situation normalizes.
