BSF detains Bangladeshi along Lalmonirhat border

The arrested is Khairul Islam, 28, son of Ahir Uddin of Khengti village under Sreerampur union in the upazila.

Locals said four to five Bangladeshis intruded into the neighbouring country to through Sreerampur border on Tuesday morning. When they were returning from India with smuggled products the BSF members detained Khairul but his cohorts managed to flee.

Sheikh Mohammad Musahid Masum, commandant of BGB-61 Battalion in Rangpur, confirmed the detention and said legal procedures were underway in this regard.
