Motorcyclist killed in Rajbari road crash

An unidentified youth was killed in a road accident at Goalanda upazila in Rajbari district on Sunday.

The accident occurred around 10:15 AM on Sunday on the Dhaka-Khulna highway near Daulatdia Model High School in the upazila.

However, the identities of the deceased, aged around 30, could not be known immediately.

Eyewitnesses and police sources reported that a speeding bus belonging to Souhardya Paribahan struck the youth, killing him instantly at the scene. 

Ahlaadipur Highway Police Station sub-inspector Juwel Sheikh said, "Upon receiving the information, we rushed to the spot. However, the identity of the deceased is yet to be confirmed. Efforts are underway to ascertain his identity, and further actions are in progress."  

He added that the bus was abandoned at a terminal by its driver and helper, who fled the scene following the accident. Police are working to seize the vehicle and identify those responsible.
