Two held with 20kg hemp in Sirajganj

Two alleged drug peddlers were arrested by Rapid Action Battalion (RAB) at Salanga upazila in Sirajganj district.

The raid was conducted on the Rangpur-Dhaka Highway of the upazila on Saturday evening.

The arrested are Ariful Islam, 36, from Dinajpur Kotwali, and Masud Rana, 28, from Thakurgaon Sadar upazila.

RAb-12 Company Commander Deepankar Ghosh confirmed the detention in a press release on Sunday, saying, "Acting on a tip-off, they conducted the raid and arrested the duo red-handed along with the drugs which was hidden under the seat of truck driver."

A case was filed with Salanga Police Station accusing the duo under Narcotics Control Act, added the press notification.
