Two killed in Jashore road accident

Two individuals, including a school student, were killed and another injured in a road accident at Monirampur upazila in Jashore on Sunday.

The incident occurred around 1 PM on Sunday at Chhalkidanga on the Jashore-Chuknagar highway in the upazila.  
The deceased were identified as Asabul Hossain, 15, a seventh-grader at Deluabati Secondary School, and Hafizur Rahman, 52, from Sheikhhati in Jashore Sadar. The injured, Imon Hossain, a classmate of the deceased Asabul, was rushed to Jashore General Hospital for treatment.  

According to eyewitnesses, Asabul and Imon were riding a motorcycle toward Jashore while Hafizur Rahman was traveling in the opposite direction toward Chuknagar. The two motorcycles collided head-on at Chhalkidanga, killing both riders instantly.  

Dumuria Highway Police Outpost sub-inspector Shimul Mandal confirmed the recovery of the bodies which were sent to Jashore General Hospital for post-mortem examination. Local residents helped rescue the injured student and transport him to the hospital.
